A friend won tickets to the Edge Next Big Thing show tonight featuring mobile. Tickets said 7pm doors, so obviously we got their at 9pm. Not for lack of trying mind you, it’s just impossible to find parking on College St. So, mobile. What can I say, they play fine radio rock. With a front man that reminds me of the new INXS singer doing his best imitation of Bono behind the mic (and inbetween song banter) The show felt familar. Yet high energy, polished, solid vocals backed by driving guitars, and a mean drum beat — combined with the most multi-coloured lights this side of a Britney concert — always makes for a good show. But that’s all it was; a good show. It wasn’t earth shattering, it wasn’t mind blowing.
It was typical.
