education and technology: an online debate

The Economist is staging an online debate on education and technology. It begins October 15th with opening remarks, continues on October 18th with rebuttals, and concludes with closing arguments on October 23rd. It is free to participate, with user comments being included in the debate. [via Mashable]

embiggen your flickr

I viewed a friends photos on flickr via the slideshow option for the first time today, and was amused to discover that flickr provides the option to ‘Embiggen small photos to fill screen”. Embiggen is a perfectly cromulent word.

Hotel Chevalier

iTunes is offering a free download of a new Wes Anderson short film titled Hotel Chevalier. Sadly it is only available via the American iTunes store. The film stars Jason Schwartzman and Natalie Portman. The film is a prologue designed to give some back story on the characters in Wes Anderson’s next feature The Darjeeling Limited.
