The New Zealand town of Whakatane has found itself censored in cyberspace because the pronunciation of the word is close to the ‘F-word’. The problem was found when someone tried to search the towns name from a free Internet service in the town. They use an American filtering solution that does a phonetic analysis of what has been typed in. First, how has this not been discovered until now. Has no one search the towns name from within the town before? And second, what a crazy Internet filter.
