Selling the king of pop

I’ve seen this on a number of websites and wanted to also share it here. It seems all of the items at Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch are being auctioned off, and someone went over and took a number of photos of a lot of the ridiculous things on offer. Words cannot even begin to describe what is in these photos. Here is the link to the flickr feed.

A week in March

For a week in March I was down in Florida trying out my new camera. I spent most of my time on the east coast searching for some waves, but sadly they were few and far between.

Don’t spoil the mystery

J.J. Abrams, the guy behind LOST, Fringe, Cloverfield and the new Star Trek film, writes a compelling piece in the May issue of Wired about the loss of delayed gratification in our current hyper-connected society. A good read.

Can you hitchhike from the UK to New Zealand?

I haven’t read the entire website yet, but from first look, and a report over at Google Maps Mania, it seems this guy used twitter to make his way from the UK to New Zealand — all on the backs of kind strangers (not their figurative backs). He did it all in 30 days, and it was for charity, and he is a journalist. Seems like an interesting twist on the One Red Paperclip idea.

YouCity 3D map of Manhatten

Almost a year ago in July I wrote about YouCity and some test maps they had created for Manhatten. Today I ran across a post at Digital Urban that suggests they have released a final version of the map. It still looks really neat, and zooms and pans like butter.
