The most complete topographic maps of the planet earth have been created using instruments aboard the decade-old Terra satellite. The new map covers latitudes between 83° north and 83° south, resolving patches of land as narrow as 30 metres across. The data is available online but I haven’t figured out how to use or view it yet. There are some more images here.
